Successful, Sexy & Surreal Weekend (PT2)…

Divided Attention Shoot

So Saturday came and went and Sunday was underway, got myself up nice and early made sure all the kit was packed for todays photo shenanigans which was a full days location shoot with local Tameside band Divided Attention. After being picked up by Gillian, who was to be my assistant for the day, we headed off to meet the band.

The brief for the shoot was fairly lose “just make us look cool” sort of thing but after initial discussions and some ideas I had suggested after our first meeting, they picked a reservior dogs style theme for the first location, hence the suits. After find a suitable spot and a few lighting adjustments I started snapping away.

Getting back to the car to get the guys to change out of suits we spotted an over zelous car park attentendant who seemed to be loitering about with intent (to dish out tickets) so we made a decision to move onto the next location: Castlefield.

Lots of scope for shooting down here and FREE parking (wahey). The lads got changed whilst Gill & myself had a coffee and more importantly for me a smoke; I hadnt had one so far that morning as I had stupidly left my lighter at home – doh.

After a few shots in Castlefield, which has much to offer in the way of great spots for shooting, we made the short trip to a nearby canalside location, which used to be an old factory and is now covered in graffiti. This makes a great backdrop for shots and the place is pretty much destroyed now. I love it and will definitely be shooting there again, as previously I have only visited to take pictures of the graffiti.

After a short break in preceedings, we all met up at Dovestones Reservoir, which is over the other side of Ashton. This location has endless possibilities for either a model or band style shoot. The water, woods and surrounding rocky outcropped hills, make an epic backdrop and was in stark contrast to elsewhere we had shot earlier on in the day.

Unfortunately this is where Gill had to leave us, so there are no more behind the scenes shots to fill the space around my waffle, but will update as soon as I have some finished shots from the shoot.
